Replace a Smoke Box on a NVx heater

WARNING: Always switch off and disconnect electricity supply and close service valve before carrying out any servicing or replacement of failed components.

1.1 Remove combustion
flue spigot by undoing 4
screws.

1.2 Remove screws
(4) from exhaust fan
mounting box.

1.3 Lift out exhaust fan
assembly.

1.4 Remove electrical
panel cover to access
cable.

1.5 Remove main fan
cables t12 from terminal
strip.

1.6 Remove earth and
neutral cables tor main
fan.

1.7 Remove all main fan
cables through electrical
panel gland.

1.8 Loosen electrical
panel by removing two
fixing screws and move
to one side.

1.9 Remove all screws
from exhaust header
plate.

1.10 Bottom screws
retaining the exhaust
header plate can be
removed through hole
in electrical panel stand
off.

1.11 Exhaust header plate
removed.

1.12 Clear any debris
and soot deposits.

1.13 Removal baffle
plate.

1.14 Remove baffle
plate.

1.15 Check outlet side
of heat exchanger for
soot deposits. Clean
if necessary. Check
burner settings and
combustion readings
if heavy deposits are
evident.

1.16 Remove swirlers
and clean any soot
deposits.
Replace if damaged.

1.17 Replace the baffle
plate.

1.18 A ‘T’ is stamped
on the one edge of the
baffle plate to denote
the top position.

1.19 Baffle plate in situ.

1.20 Reposition exhaust
header plate and fix
using screws. Apply new
gasket if necessary.

1.21 Refit electrical
panel by fixing two
screws

1.22 Replace all main fan
cables through electrical
panel gland.

1.23 Replace earth and
neutral cables tor main
fan.

1.24 Replace main fan
cable brown to t12 to
terminal strip.

1.25 Replace electrical
panel cover.

1.26 Offer new fan
assembly to exhaust
header plate.

1.27 Refit all exhaust
header plate screws.

1.28 Refit combustion
flue spigot.

1.29 Check operation of
exhaust fan
